For more than 25 years, Esme B. Mashugane has been a make-up designer, and is now Head of the Make-up Department of the South African talk show “Motswako”. After her training at the Pretoria State Theatre Academy, Mashugane has gained international experience in various fields of professional make-up.

Esme B. Mashugane has prominent clients from numerous cultural back­grounds, and she provides make-up support for heads of state as well. Her work as Department Head for the comedy series City Ses’La brought her a nomination in 2006 for the Golden Horn Award in the category of Best Hair and Make-up. Her skills and knowledge are in great demand for soap operas, such as the Muvhango series, in which she was Department Head.

Fashion magazines and advertising agencies also depend on Esme B. Mashugane’s creativity and reliable feel for style. Many magazine covers testify to the work of the artist. In 2008 she was responsible for the make-up creations shown at the Audi Fashion Week in Johannesburg.
