Only a very few make-up artists in present-day Japan have mastered professional applicationfor Kabuki, the traditional Japanese theatre consisting of song, pantomime, and dance. For decades now, Yasushi Shimizu has been a recognized expert in this art of make-up. He was professionally trained at Gakushuin University in Tokyo, and has gained experience in operas, operettas, and TV productions. Today, Yasushi Shimizu is in demand as a lecturer at professional schools.

Momoko Yajima and Sayoko Iton are engaged as lecturers at the Kokusaibunka Technical College of Hair Design in Tokyo.

As specialist for the traditional Japanese Kimono bride make-up, Momoko Yajima’s honours include an award by the Japanese Beautician’s Association for the best make-up in her specialty in the country.

Sayoko Iton won the same award in her category of Western Bride Styling. She is also a recognized expert for modern fashion make-up.
