Jos Brands was trained as a make-up artist at the Royal Opera in Antwerp. He has worked in countless thea­tre, film, and TV productions. For a number of years now, the passion­ate artist and bodypainting special­ist has passed on his experience to young make-up artist generations at SIVO, the prominent state institute (Stedelijk Instituut voor Volwassenen Onderwijs) in Antwerp. Jos Brands is internationally famous as an expert for high-definition technology. He has developed a comprehensive teach­ing concept for these techniques of the future, which mean completely new challenges and work methods for make-up designers in projects with advanced cameras. On behalf of Kryolan Professional Make-up, he is on the move around the world, to introduce high-definition make-up techniques to his colleagues. In workshops he teaches these appli­cations with use of classical tools, as well as by professional use of the airbrush.
